Extra info: The idea started from the dedication of two young biologists, Arnau and Teresa, who decided to focus their energies on what they like the most: beer. Teresa discovered the world of beer in Germany while she was studying and working and in parallel Arnau had the same encounter in Denmark. Their paths met again after a few years of work experience in the poor and disenchanted world of food and research, and decided to embark on the adventure together creating a craft brewer. Thus was born the project Companyia Artesana Maians. With significant background knowledge of beer culture, with delivery of more than a dozen tasting courses and brewing in community centers and shops in the state, the first recipes were developed in a garage in Gelida, Alt Penedès (40 km from Barcelona). Later an industrial unit located in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons was acquired . The new installation has a capacity of 150,000 liters per year and visitors will be able to make beer tastings and tours.
