Extra info: Menduiña Brewery is the love child of Alberte and Valeria, who met in Patagonia and fell in love with craft beer. Alberte became a self-taught home brewer and for several years visited European and American breweries with a passion. In 2008 Alberte and Valeria decided to set up their very own brewery in Alberte’s home, Galicia, in the northwest corner of Spain, which boasts some of the finest spring water of the Peninsula Ibérica. Menduiña Brewery set up an estate of the art facility in the seaside town of Cangas do Morrazo and was open for business in 2011 with a portfolio of 6 beers. The brewery recycles its spent grain to local farmers and is a pioneer in the region with its use of renewable energy such as solar panels for heating water and biomass for the boiler and promotes recycling the leftovers of the brewing process as cattle fodder and also to make compost. Menduiña ales and lagers are unfiltered and unpasteurized and made with 100% natural ingredients; using pure Galician Spring water, the best barley varieties from UK and Germany, and local and imported varieties of fresh hop flowers.
