Local German members

When it comes to beer, everyone feels like they have a voice, the big brewers, the small brewers, the state, the associations, politicians...

Only the consumers only show up when the media wants to present a blind tasting of beer X against beer Y. The GBCU was founded to put an end to this grievance and – similar to other European countries – to give beer a voice from “below”, i.e. from those who like to (and consciously) drink it.

The GBCU is committed to the greatest possible variety of beers (in catering establishments and in the beverage trade), a complete and transparent beer declaration (ingredients and origin) as well as a beer price that is fair for everyone involved and low beer taxes. To this end, we also work together with the other players on the German and European beer market and regularly organize events relating to the variety of German beers.

GBCU has been a full member of EBCU (European Beer Consumers Union) since 2021. Our member Claus-Christian Carbon belongs to the Executive Committee of this umbrella organization.
